Our Story

We are so happy to introduce ourselves, we are Emma and Justin Burstall. Emma is the loud, animal loving, snap decision making half of the team and Justin is the less loud, more cautious but still donkey loving half. Between them, they love life, laughter and donkeys! 

Burclair Miniatures surprisingly started not with donkeys but with two miniature goats called Charlie and Cliffe! They were given to Emma as a birthday gift and this sparked her interest in miniature animals. Next came miniature pigs, llamas, miniature cows and alpacas. In amongst this barnyard load of animals were also the miniature donkeys.

We started with 4 miniature donkeys; 1 Jack, 2 Jennies and a 10 day old jenny foal! And promptly fell in love with their sweet faces, big dark eyes, unflappable temperament and cuddly behaviour.

The barnyard constantly changing in numbers, but has now grown to include 3 Jacks, 8 Jennies, 4 yearling Jennies, 4 Geldings and 1 jack foal.
